![]() Above: students react to the official parent announcement. In April of 2018, my ninth grade history class took me to Paris! While I organized and was the officially sponsored chaperone of this trip, this was an entirely student led endeavor. In my initial message to the parents, I wrote that "I want you to know that the students led this initiative and inspired its eventual reality. This would not have happened without the energy of youthful dreams!" The field trip was closely tied to our course's content, focusing on the events which led up to the French Revolution, the four stages of the revolution itself, and the exciting Napoleonic era. And of course, it's Paris. My main hope for my students was that they form memories of a lifetime. |
